On-Demand Pay from [Employer name]

Some of your pay, before payday

On-Demand Pay lets you withdraw part of the pay you’ve already earned, before your usual payday. It’s optional, and nothing changes if you never use it.

Example
Earned since your last payday£600
You can withdraw up to£300

Example figures. You can access up to 50% of what you’ve earned since your last payday, up to £850 before each payday.

What On-Demand Pay is, and isn’t

What it is

  • Your own pay, for hours you’ve already worked
  • For unexpected costs that come up before payday, like a car repair or a bill
  • Available to everyone who works for [Employer name]
  • Paid into your bank account, usually within a few minutes

What it isn’t

  • A loan. There’s no interest to pay
  • Extra money. What you withdraw is deducted from your next payslip
  • Something you have to use
  • Something your manager is told about

How it works

Four steps, and you only need to do the first three once.

  1. Look out for your login

Level FT, the company [Employer name] works with, sets up an account for you and sends your login details by text or email.

  2. Download the app

If you’d like to use it, download the free Level FT app and log in with the details Level FT sent you.

  3. Register for On-Demand Pay

Register in the app. [Employer name] checks your registration and shares your pay details with Level FT.

  4. Withdraw if something comes up

Choose how much to withdraw. The money usually reaches your bank account within a few minutes.

[Employer name] checks your registration once. After that, you don’t need anyone’s permission for each withdrawal.

How much you can access, and what it costs

How much you can access

50% of what you’ve earned since your last payday £850 the most you can withdraw before each payday

Your available amount goes up as you work. The app always shows how much you can withdraw.

What it costs

£1.95 fee each time you withdraw, whatever the amount

No interest and no other charges. The Level FT app is free to download.

What happens on payday

What you withdraw, plus the fee, is deducted from your next payslip. For example:

£100you withdrew
£1.95fee
£101.95deducted on payday

Worked examples

These are example figures. Your own available amount is always shown in the app.

How your available amount builds

You’ve earned £600 since your last payday. You can access up to 50% of that, so the app shows £300.

It goes up as you work, up to £850 before each payday.

One withdrawal

Your car needs a £150 repair before payday. You withdraw £150 and it usually reaches your bank account within a few minutes.

On payday, £151.95 is deducted from your pay: the £150 you withdrew plus the £1.95 fee.

Two withdrawals

You withdraw £40 for a school trip, then £60 for a bill that’s due before payday. That’s two withdrawals, so two fees.

On payday, £103.90 is deducted from your pay: the £100 you withdrew plus £3.90 in fees.

One amount or several

Withdrawing £20 three times costs £5.85 in fees. Withdrawing £60 once costs £1.95.

The fee is the same whatever the amount, so one withdrawal costs less than several small ones.

Work out what comes off payday

Enter an amount to see how much would be deducted from your next payslip. This only works out the cost: what you can actually withdraw depends on what you’ve earned so far, and the app shows it.

Deducted from your next payslip

£101.95

£100 withdrawn + £1.95 in fees (1 withdrawal)

Questions and answers

About On-Demand Pay

What is Level FT?

Level FT is the company [Employer name] works with to offer On-Demand Pay. Its app, also called Level FT, lets you withdraw some of the pay you’ve already earned before payday.

Depending on what [Employer name] offers, you may also see Payroll Savings in the app, which lets you set money aside straight from your pay. Find out more at levelft.com/what-is-level.

Is it a loan?

No. It’s your own pay, for hours you’ve already worked. There’s no interest. What you withdraw, plus the fee for each withdrawal, is deducted from your next payslip, so there’s nothing separate to sort out afterwards.

Who can use it?

Available to everyone who works for [Employer name].

Do I have to use it?

No. If you never use it, nothing changes with your pay or your job.

Getting started

How do I get started?

You don’t need to sign up. Level FT sets up an account for you and sends your login details by text or email. If you’d like to use On-Demand Pay:

  1. Download the free Level FT app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Tap Log in and enter the details Level FT sent you.
  3. Register for On-Demand Pay and agree that [Employer name] can share your pay details with Level FT.
  4. [Employer name] checks your registration.

Once that’s done, the app shows how much you can withdraw.

Is the message from Level FT genuine?

Yes, Level FT is the company [Employer name] works with. If you’re ever unsure about a message, don’t tap the link. Search for Level FT in your app store instead, or ask your manager or HR team.

Can I register now and use it later?

Yes. Registering is free, and you never have to withdraw anything. Because [Employer name] checks each registration, setting up early means it’s ready if something comes up.

What information does Level FT have about me?

Level FT has your name and contact details so it can send your login details. If you register for On-Demand Pay, you agree that [Employer name] can share your pay information with Level FT, such as your hours, rate of pay and bank details. Level FT uses this to work out how much you can access.

What if I don’t want an account?

You can ignore the details Level FT sends and choose not to register. Nothing changes with your job or your pay.

Costs and payday

What does it cost?

The Level FT app is free to download. Each withdrawal has a fixed fee of £1.95, whatever the amount. There’s no interest and there are no other charges.

How much can I withdraw?

Up to 50% of the pay you’ve earned since your last payday, up to £850 before each payday. Your available amount goes up as you work, and the app always shows it.

How quickly does the money arrive?

Usually within a few minutes, straight into your bank account. You don’t need anyone’s permission for each withdrawal.

What happens on payday?

You get your usual pay, minus what you’ve withdrawn and a £1.95 fee for each withdrawal. Your pay itself doesn’t change: you’ve just received some of it earlier.

Why don’t my withdrawals show on my payslip?

Payslips are often produced a few days before payday, and you may still be able to withdraw after that. Every withdrawal is listed in the Level FT app: tap the three lines at the bottom right, then Withdrawal history.

My bank pays my salary a day early. Does that change?

It might. If you register for On-Demand Pay, early pay features from banks such as Monzo may stop working, so your pay arrives on payday rather than the day before.

Using On-Demand Pay

What is On-Demand Pay designed for?

Unexpected costs that come up before payday, like a car repair or a bill that can’t wait. Everything you withdraw is deducted from your next payslip, so your next payday will be smaller.

Is one larger withdrawal cheaper than several small ones?

Yes. The fee is the same whatever the amount, so several small withdrawals cost more in fees than one. There are examples above.

What if I’m using it most months?

Using On-Demand Pay often means each payday is smaller, which can make the next month harder. If it would help to talk to someone independent, MoneyHelper and Citizens Advice offer free, confidential help (details below). You can also talk to your manager or HR team if money worries are affecting you at work.

Will my manager know if I use it?

No. Your manager isn’t told whether you’ve registered or withdrawn any pay. Only Level FT and the payroll team see individual withdrawals, because payroll needs them to work out your pay.
